There are instances that you do not have work to do or you have very few projects to work on during slow times. But there are also feast times wherein there are too much work to do. You could have experienced this when you only get few sleeps and you spend most of your time working on different projects.

These tips are simple ways to help you manage your time well while giving attention to your own well-being. Take a look at these tips and try to apply them whenever you have too much work to do.
1. Learn to prioritize.

Your range of time for working on a project depends on the client’s demand. If the client won’t mind delaying the project, then you do first those which are urgent and are on a rush. It would be okay for them if you postpone their projects as long as you still finish them. Learn to prioritize when you have so much work to do.

Make sure that your schedule is well done. This way, you can work on your projects and even finish them on time. Just be sure that you will follow the schedule and discipline yourself to really follow what you have in your timeline. Do away with distractions, too.
3. Work for longer hours.

You actually do not have a choice but to work for more hours than you usually spend. This way, you will be able to finish your projects. Anyway, you do not need to do this all the time. So, bear with it at the moment. There would be times that you have much work but you do not need to work for long hours. It just depends on what the clients need.
4. Try outsourcing.
If you really cannot finish all your projects, you can outsource it to other designers. But of course, this time, you have to brief the designer on what the client wants and you discuss the payment, too. You client has nothing to do with it anymore but it would be a transaction between you and the other designer. You agree on some important matters and be sure that you have chosen the right designer who is reliable and has high work quality.
5. Know the right time to say no.

You will surely end up with hands full of so much work if you do not know when and how to say no. You cannot just nod at all the clients that would like to let you work for them because if you do that, you will end up compromising a lot of things in your work. You might not be able to create outputs of good quality anymore because you are in so much hurry to finish all of them.
6. Inform your clients that you are busy.

You have to let your client know that you are busy with work at the moment. Then if they are still willing to wait for you, that would be okay. It is always important to let them know how occupied you are so that there will be no problem in the end. But even if your client doesn’t care much of the schedule, you should still care about it so you can prioritize the project.
7. Do away with the distractions.

If you got used of working while all your social network accounts are online, maybe this time, you can minimize that with only one. You can just monitor your emails if you receive new messages from clients. Entertain only important emails and messages. Doing this will save you a lot of time.
8. Inform other people that you are busy.
Tell your family and friends that you will be busy for a couple of days. Doing this will let them know that you cannot do some little favours for them and you cannot be disturbed. They will understand you and you do not need to explain every now and then which is also time consuming. When you are done with your work, you then spend some time with them again.
9. Do not forget to take breaks.

No matter how occupied you are with work, make sure that you still have time for breaks. This way, you can recharge once in a while. Also, you might feel that your creativity juices are running out because of too much work and thinking. Taking a break can give you a better output.
