Charizard is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak’s Pokémon franchise. In the Pokémon anime series, Charizard is one of the most recurring being from the main character, Ash Ketchum. Its pre-evolutions Charmander and Charmeleon are all ground-bound lizard like creatures, Charizard resembles a large traditional European dragon. In the anime series, Charizard is known to be disobedient and fighting only those battles which he thinks are challenging. This changed entirely after Ash made some sacrifices in order to help Charizard. He eventually left Ash after meeting Charla – another Charizard- in Charizific Valley. Like many of Ash’s other Pokémon, Charizard has returned on a temporary basis to battle at Ash’s side to battle powerful Pokemon.
