Paper Crafting is the variety of art forms utilizing paper or card as its major medium in creating three-dimensional objects. It lets everyone use an otherwise simple paper into a wider range of methods. For instances, it can be folded, cut, glued, moulded, stitched, or layered. Furthermore, one of the techniques that artists use in paper crafting is cast paper. Cast paper is an example of paper crafting technique wherein the paper fiber or pulp is formed into a different sculpture using a mold. Amazingly, our featured artists for today have used these medium that can be adored by artistic minds.
Allen and Patty Eckman are couples from South Dakota who are behind these wonderful creations. Both have a heart of being an artist for art and designing has been there passion. Since 1988, they have created a series of gigantic sculpture using a cast paper. They have different inspiration for their works, since Allen have a Cherokee ancestry – a Native American people –he is fascinated by Indian cultures. In a pleasing contrast, Patty who is more interested in natural world creates birds and flowers. As couples, they work together on large and more detailed creations.
