Monkey D. Luffy, also known as Straw Hat Luffy is a fictional and the main character of the One Piece franchise. Introduced as a boy who possesses rubber powers from eating a devil fruit called the Gum-Gum Fruit and superhuman strength, Luffy is set out to search for the fabled treasure. Throughout his adventures, he meets many interesting characters who also shares his goal. They have organized a diverse crew known as the Straw Hat Pirates. As Luffy’s exploits are revealed to the World Government, he becomes one of the strongest pirates and stands out to protect his crew from villains who wish to harm him and his friends. He is depicted as a carefree but can quickly become a serious character when in a fight. Luffy is able to concentrate his strength and power to use attacks, also known as Gum-Gum Pistol, an attack that uses elasticity from his hands.
